Significant change to EBSCOhost database

UPDATE: UniSA will retain access to the classic EBSCOhost interface until July. You can access both the classic and new interfaces during this time. The actions described in this article should be completed by July 2025.

Users of key databases including CINAHL Complete, SPORTDiscus, and Business Source Ultimate are advised that a new EBSCOhost interface will be implemented in July 2025

If you have a personal MyEBSCO account and have saved searches, articles or other items, please note the following will not migrate to the new interface:

  • persistent links to searches
  • full search history for multi-line saved searches
  • search alerts and journal alerts
  • custom and shared folders and their contents
  • information saved in the following locations within My Folder: Companies, Pages, Notes, Webpages, Other content sources

Action required before July 2025 to avoid loss of data:

  • move saved searches from custom folders to My Folder - EBSCO video
  • It is recommended that saved searches be backed up by copying and pasting into a separate document if needed for future reference. It is possible that elements of search histories may be lost as only the intended search (ie most recent search line) will be migrated to the new interface. The exception to this is when the search is a combined search (e.g. S1 OR S2 resulting in S3). In this case, the subqueries are also mapped with the migrated search (S3) in the new interface. For more detail please refer to the following article from EBSCO.
  • move articles, ebooks and other items from custom folders to My Folder, or export, print or email - EBSCO video
  • copy details of your saved search and journal alerts so these can be recreated on the new interface, or recreate them in the new interface now while both are available. Please see these articles for further information: Journal Alerts, Search Alerts

You can access both the new and classic interfaces via the Library database record, e.g. via the CINAHL Complete record:

  • Select the database name link to open in the new interface or,
  • select EBSCOhost Classic link to open in the classic interface.

Please contact Ask the Library for further information and support.
